Dear Friends ,
We listen to a song - from some film - "TV pe breaking news hai yeh mera ghaghra , Punjab se leke Dilli via Agra" and then , we say - our culture is getting hit by - Western Sensibilities.
What is our sensibility ?
India today rakes under a fear of 'culture loss' completely - forgetting - that this same culture - has withstood so many - centuries , so many decades , so many empires , and so many civilizations. Have we changed ? I'm sure we'll all answer - No.
If we know - that time can't change us - why do we feel strangulated at times, has it anything to do with insecurity - the way we portray it. Or, actually - it is - our Desire - to show the world - we have survived.
Maybe - we don't have the "Best Linen" .... available in the world ... but do we ever think ...that we actually don't even need it. Friends - we are a rich nation .... and that is the reason - why so many times - so many - have come - to enjoy our hospitality. The only big problem - is we always exchange our gold - for their iron.
Why doesn't India learns to fight. Why do we stand up and start clapping - every time a "Fair Complexioned Foreigner" is brought infront of us. Why can't we not understand - It is not his land. He will never - Develop it.
Either we are too - short-sighted , or , we lack this feeling of Nationality. Why are our books - not teaching about the freedom struggle in detail ? Why are our children - still treated as second grade - in their own homeland ?
Sensibility - is not something - that comes - from 'Learning or Teaching' ...it comes directly from within .. we either like something .... or we don't ..... a compromise - is like - eating fish - without liking it.
The tone of the article may sound a bit political here, but the truth remains. Only by saying - this - That we will be made smart - now. It shows the presumption - That we are currently stupid.
Last but not the least - when shall we do something ?
India is not its cultural heritage , India is not its forts and fortresses , India is also not Bollywood. India is what lives under the constant fear of death due to lack of good quality life.
We need to be sensible , as well as sensitive , towards - what we want to do with our Nation. Remain - the secretary - to the Gora Saab - who has no concern for our life. Or become the king - of our land - and believe in God - to turn it rich for us.
I don't believe in fate or destiny. I believe - men - can do things - God - wants them to do. It is on them - how much they believe in God.
